Cogentum was able to very sensitively capture the many social, emotional and practical challenges women need to overcome when deciding to have breast reconstruction following surgery for breast cancer.

We found the in-depth interviews with these women very candid, very powerful and very uplifting at the same time. These insights, validated by the 700 strong sample of women who took part in the quantitative phase of the research, provided valuable information for other women, families, clinicians, policy makers, scientists and those endeavouring to achieve better outcomes for women with breast cancer.

The interest also expressed in the quantitative study of 100 Plastic & Reconstructive surgeons in Australia and the US gave valuable insights into the commercial potential of new avenues of breast reconstruction.
